A couple's vision was to construct a holiday retreat on their inherited estate, nestled near the Victoria Reservoir in the cold hill country of Sri Lanka. This location provided an ideal setting for a holiday home with captivating views. The design of the retreat features a combination of steel and wood, along with expansive glass openings. This approach aims to foster a natural and open living concept where the beauty of the surroundings takes centre stage. The design also takes into consideration the potential to serve as a tourist destination in the future.
